The Hydro Corridor and the trails of Preservation Park

(Directions: Off the Hanlon turning east at Kortright Rd. and then immediately south on Hanlon Road. Go to the end of the road and park. For a larger version, click on the map)

Map of Preservation Park

The hydro corridor, an official off leash park, is a simple back and forth stretch along the Hanlon only. But it is also the entry to all the trails of Preservation Park which is not an official off leash area. All the trails in this section join one another. I have just separated them on the map to make the description easier. The map shows just how extensive the trail system is and how you can take shorter or longer hikes. There are also many other side trails I have not included.

To walk your dog on the Hydro Corridor, official off leash park, follow the dirt road straight ahead down beside the Hanlon (black trail on map). Return when you can go no further. (Don't take the black trail going east from the Hanlon)

Bo-o-ring. But lots and lots of people do just this especially if their dogs like to chase each other or chase sticks and balls. It is a very busy place with a lot of different size dogs.

What you really want to do is check out the rest of the trails.
